This role combines technical expertise with strong customer-facing skills. You will develop a deep understanding of SMPnet’s products, engage with utility and grid operators, and help shape our presence in one of our most strategic regions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Technical Engagement

  • Lead technical discussions with customers to understand their operational challenges and align SMPnet’s solutions to their needs.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations, presentations, and proof-of-value sessions for prospects and partners.
  • Support the full sales cycle from initial discovery to technical validation and contract negotiation.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with utilities, DSOs, and energy-sector partners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on how SMPnet can support customers’ digitalisation, optimisation, and grid-modernisation goals.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the pre- and post-sales process.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the product, engineering, and commercial teams to shape customer-centric enhancements and feature roadmaps.
  • Provide structured customer feedback to internal teams to help refine product capabilities and address market demands.

Market Development

  • Identify new business opportunities, support tender submissions, and contribute to regional sales plans.
  • Represent SMPnet at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions when required.
  • Contribute to building SMPnet’s presence and reputation as a technology leader in smart grid innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Energy Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 4–5 years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or solution engineering within the technology, smart grid, or utilities sector.
  • Proven track record of supporting complex technical sales cycles and meeting commercial objectives.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to translate complex system capabilities into clear customer benefits.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willingness to travel within Spain and occasionally across Europe.

What We Offer

  • A full-time position with a competitive salary
  • Benefits, including stock options, 28 days holidays (excluding statutory), private health insurance, €1000 one-off training budget for professional development and wellness.
  • Flexible working hours with a focus on achieving a balanced work environment.
  • A collaborative and innovative atmosphere with opportunities to impact the company’s direction and growth.
